Peppers offers a very different service to the average menswear store, specialising in suit hire, retail sales and custom made. We also provide a unique hire service, with comprehensive alterations made to our highest quality suits.
With over 30 years of experience, Peppers are the experts in fitting wedding and black tie suits, advising on correct sizing and etiquette as well as delivering superior quality and advice.
Am I Better To Hire Or Purchase?
Both options are convenient.
Suit hire is the logical choice for most wedding parties – we will supply any size as required and tailor it to fit, costing a fraction of the purchase price.
If you need a black tie or semi-formal suit we have many to choose from and can have ready with a small amount of notice.
Purchase will always be the best option if you will get use of the suit in the future. Allow up to a week for a size to arrive in store.
Do You Alter The Hire Suits?
We will make complete alterations to the suit you hire, these are included in the hire fee.
We also alter our retail suits, generally at no extra charge.
Do I Need To Make An Appointment To Come To Peppers?
Yes.
We work by appointment at all times.
How Much Notice Do I Need?
Wedding suits should be booked in no later than 6 weeks prior to the wedding.
Single hires should allow at least a week where possible, but we can make a suit up on the spot if necessary.
Retail orders will take a few days to arrive but we recommend allowing at least 6 weeks for wedding suits.
Custom-made orders take a minimum of 6 weeks, we advise you to allow 12 weeks.
When Do I Collect And Return?
Hire suits are ready to collect after 3.00pm on Wednesday.
All hires are due back on the Monday after the event.
Longer hire periods can be arranged at no extra charge.
Do I Need To Try My Suit On When I Collect It?
It is preferable that you try your suit on before taking it to wear.
Your suit will have been altered for you. We need you to check that you are happy with the fit.
Peppers holds no responsibility for the fit of a suit that has not had a fitting upon collection, nor can we accept responsibility for a suit made ready by sent measurements only.
Can I Buy The Suit And Hire For My Groomsmen?
Yes, of course!
Our hire suits are also available to buy. They are custom made for you, starting at $1450.00.
Our Vienna and Milano tuxedos can also be matched back to a very similar pure wool off the rack suit, starting at $650.00.
Can I have a suit custom made by Peppers ?
Peppers offers the experience to ensure you suit will be immaculately fitted using exceptional quality wool, linen, brocade or velvet. We ask that you allow 12 weeks for a suit to be made. A two piece starts at $1450.00.
What Do I Need To Leave As A Deposit?
We generally take a minimum of $50.00 deposit on each suit required. This deposit locks in the booking and will be taken off the balance owing upon collection. Once this is paid we will allocate the sizes you want for the date required.
$50.00 per suit minimum is also what we will charge as a cancelation fee. Any suits cancelled within a week of the date booked will be charged a minimum of $100.00 per suit..
What Happens If I Lose Or Damage The Suit?
We will charge the replacement cost for any item lost or permanently damaged.
What Happens If I Am Late Returning?
Late returns are charged $50.00 per suit per day. However, we will be lenient if you notify us you are running late.
We will chase you! Often items are booked out each week so it is important that the suit is returned as arranged.
At worst we will notify the police and record the suit as stolen.
